RECEIVING THE GIFT OF ETERNAL LIFE

For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord (Romans 6:23).

PASTOR CHRIS OYAKHILOME

In preaching the Gospel, we must let the world know that God already made eternal life available as a gift to all men. A gift is something given voluntarily, without payment in return, usually to show favour, honour, appreciation or express love toward someone. The essence of a gift is that it’s not something you work or labour to earn; it’s free.

We read in our opening scripture that the gift of God is eternal life. God offered it freely in Jesus Christ. Isn’t that wonderful? He knew that no matter how hard we tried; our hard and good works wouldn’t qualify us to receive eternal life. Therefore, He made it available as a gift.

Recall the words of the Lord Jesus in John 3:16; "For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life." Also, in John 5:24, He said, "Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that heareth my word, and believeth on him that sent me, hath everlasting life…." So, if you believe that Jesus Christ is the Son of God (God in human flesh), and that He died onaccount of your sins, and was raised back to life for your justification, eternal life is imparted to your spirit.

At that moment, everything changes; you have eternal life with the blessings and grace that flow from Him. 1 John 5:11-12 says, "And this is the record, that God hath given to us eternal life, and this life is in his Son. He that hath the Son hath life; and he that hath not the Son of God hath not life." If you haven’t declared His lordship over your life, do so right away. The Word declares that if you confess with your mouth “Jesus is Lord” and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved (Romans 10:9).

Turn to the Prayer of Salvation page at the back of this devotional, say the words therein and mean them from the bottom of your heart. This will bring you into salvation in Christ right away. God bless you.

PRAYER

Dear Father, I thank you for the wonderful gift of eternal life through Jesus Christ. For everyone who receives salvation today, the Name of Jesus is named upon them. They have received life from you, and Satan has no claim over them anymore; they belong to Jesus and are members of the body of Christ. Amen.

THURSDAY, JULY 31TH 2025 OUR UNIQUE ASSIGNMENTS IN THE MILLENNIUM Behold, a king shall reign in righteousness, and princes shall rule in judgment. And a man shall be as an hiding place from the wind, and a covert from the tempest; as rivers of water in a dry place, as the shadow of a great rock in a weary land (Isaiah 32:1-2). PASTOR CHRIS OYAKHILOME  Our theme scripture is prophetic about the Millennium. The latter part alludes to the unique role we (the Church) would be playing in the millennial reign, when Israel takes center stage. The millennial reign of Christ is not for the Church. It’s for Israel. So, what are we, the Church, going to be doing then? We're going to be carrying out angelic assignments. Our role at the millennial reign of Christ is very different from what a lot of people think; it’s going to be much like what the angels do today in ministering for us. In that day, the Jews will walk in the Millennial blessings that characterize the life of the saints wh...

MONDAY, 14TH JULY 2025 THE VIRGIN BIRTH CONFIRMS HIS DEITY   Behold, a virgin shall be with child, and shall bring forth a son, and they shall call his name Emmanuel, which being interpreted is, God with us  (Matthew 1:23). PASTOR CHRIS OYAKHILOME    When we say Jesus Christ is deity, we’re affirmingthat He is God. This claim is significant, especially when you consider that many around the world view Jesus merely as a prophet or a great teacher. While it may seem respectful for some to call Him a great prophet or a remarkable teacher, these assertions fall far short of His true identity.    That’s the reason it’s important to understand who He really is by first examining the miracle of His birth. TheBible describes His birth as extraordinary, something that had never occurred in all of history. Matthew 1:18 says, “Now the birth of Jesus Christ was on this wise: When as his mother Mary was espoused to Joseph, before they came together, she was found with c...
