RHAPSODY OF REALITIES DAILY DEVOTIONAL

SATURDAY, 31ST MAY 2025 HE KNOWS THE DETAILS Likewise the Spirit also helps in our weaknesses. For we do not know what we should pray for as we ought, but the Spirit Himself makes intercession for us with groanings which cannot be uttered (Romans 8:26 NKJV) PASTOR CHRIS OYAKHILOME Life is full of decisions—some simple, others lifechanging. At times, you may find yourself at a crossroads, unsure of what to do. There’s an opportunity open to you, and you’re wondering, should I take it? What’s the best step forward? The good news is this: the Holy Spirit knows the details! Consult with Him and He’ll give you the perfect guidance you need.  Ponder again Paul’s beautiful and inspired words in Romans 8:26 as quoted in the theme verse. The Holy Spirit, knowing all things, knowing the will of God and the mind of the Father, makes intercession for us—not from outside but from within. He prays in you and through you, helping you when you don’t know what to pray for or how to pray. There’s s...

RHAPSODY OF REALITIES DAILY DEVOTIONAL

WEDNESDAY, 28TH MAY 2025 PERFECT AND FULL-GROWN Epaphras, who is one of you, a servant of Christ, saluteth you, always labouring fervently for you in prayers, that ye may stand perfect and complete in all the will of God (Colossians 4:12). PASTOR CHRIS OYAKHILOME  The Apostle Paul, in the verse above, highlights God's desire for us to grow into spiritual maturity. Epaphras, a servant of Christ, prayed fervently for the Christians in Colossae, asking the Lord to keep them perfect and complete in all the will of God. This prayer reflects God’s vision for His children; He wants us to be fully mature, complete, and fully established in His will.  The words "perfect," Greek (teleios) and "complete," Greek (ple‌roo‌) in this context are synonymous and often used interchangeably in the Scriptures to specifically refer to being full-grown or mature. They denote a state of spiritual maturity where one becomes a full-grown Christian.  Just as earthly parents raise their c...

RHAPSODY OF REALITIES DAILY DEVOTIONAL

SUNDAY 25TH MAY 2025 THE UNIQUENESS OF THE PASTORAL OFFICE  And he gave some, apostles; and some, prophets; and some, evangelists; and some, pastors and teachers; For the perfecting of the saints, for the work of the ministry, for the edifying of the body of Christ (Ephesians 4:11-12). PASTOR CHRIS OYAKHILOME  Our opening scripture lists for us the fivefold ministry gifts or offices in the body of Christ: apostles, prophets, evangelists, pastors, and teachers. Through these ministry gifts and offices, the Lord builds up His Church, ensuring that every member is equipped for the work of the ministry.  However, among all the ministry offices, it's the pastoral ministry that God specifically holds responsible for the congregation. While there are others who may function as pastors for a period of time by God's commission, they may not necessarily be called to the pastoral office. Some assume that being a minister of God means one must pastor a church, but this is not ...
