Even though He is the Son of God, He allowed John to baptize Him (Matthew 3:13-15). He didn't act more important than others. He chose to obey God.   He also told His disciples that anyone who wants to be great must be ready to serve (Matthew 20:26). He even washed their feet to show them how (John 13:13-15).   The Bible says Jesus humbled Himself and did what God wanted. As a result, God lifted Him and gave Him the highest name (Philippians 2:9-11).   So, to be great, you have to choose humility. Choose to do things in God's way. Help at home. Be kind at school. The opening scripture isn’t a promise for the future; it is a present reality. The grace of God pilots you. It causes you to reign in life. To reign means to live in dominion. It means you’re always on top, always above, never beneath. This is consistent with what God said to the children of Israel: “And the Lord shall make thee the head, and not the tail; and thou shalt be above only, and thou shalt not be beneath…” (Deuteronomy 28:13).  Now, in Christ Jesus, by this amazing grace, that becomes your daily experience.
