IT’LL SURELY PASS (That Trouble Is For A Moment)
TO THE BIBLE:
2 Corinthians 4:17 AMPC
“For our light, momentary affliction (this slight distress of the passing hour) is ever more and more abundantly preparing and producing and achieving for us an everlasting weight of glory [beyond all measure, excessively surpassing all comparisons and all calculations, a vast and transcendent glory and blessedness never to cease!]”
LET’S TALK
In your life as a Christian, tough times may come to you in form of trials, temptations, and persecution. But at such times, you should hold on and don’t give up, because they only came to pass. Remember Jesus’ words to the soldiers who came to arrest Him at Gethsemane; He said, “I was with you in the Temple every day, and you did not try to arrest me. But this is your hour to act, when the power of darkness rules” (Luke 22:53 GNB). It was just for a moment. When it was over, the glorified Son of God was manifested. Hallelujah!
So, you may go through difficulties and times of darkness, but the Bible says count it all joy when you go through diverse tests, knowing that the trial of your faith works patience (James 1:2); it’ll turn out for your good.
Some things can happen to you even though you’re a Christian, but it doesn’t change who you are; you’re still a victor! The circumstances of your life don’t, and shouldn’t, describe or dictate the quality of your personality.
Jesus said, “In your patience possess ye your souls” (Luke 21:19 KJV). Remain confident in God’s Word, no matter what’s happening to you, or around you. Friends and neighbours may despise and ostracise you; it makes no difference. The greater One lives in you, and that’s what counts.
That trouble is for a moment! The adversity is for a moment; it came to pass! Whatever pressures you’re facing right now are all light afflictions; they’ll produce for you a far more exceeding and eternal weight of glory as you keep your focus on the Word.
