IT’S NOT BY MIGHT! (Make Impact By the Spirit)

📖TO THE BIBLE
Zechariah 4:6
“So he answered and said to me: “This is the word of the Lord to Zerubbabel: “Not by might nor by power, but by My Spirit,” says the Lord of hosts.”

▶️LET’S TALK
In Luke 24:49, Jesus instructed His disciples to wait in Jerusalem until they were filled with the Holy Spirit, because He knew they needed His divine enablement to accomplish the task He had given them. In fact, during His own earthly ministry, He wouldn’t do anything except by the Spirit and through the Spirit. In John 5:19, He said, “...Most assuredly, I say to you, the Son can do nothing of Himself, but what He sees the Father do; for whatever He does, the Son also does in like manner.”

The Father He was referring to here is the Holy Spirit, for, in Matthew 1:18, Jesus is called the child of the Holy Ghost. Again, in John 14:10, He said, “…the Father who dwells in Me does the works.” He referred to the Holy Spirit as the One who worked through Him to perform miracles. In the same way, the miracles, signs and wonders recorded in our ministry, and the tremendous impact we’re making around the world are in no way by human effort. They are the works of the Spirit of God. We’ve learnt to work by the Spirit and through the Spirit.

That’s what your life ought to be as a Christian. You have to be continually filled with the Spirit to be consistent in your walk of faith and demonstrate the miraculous. The Apostle Paul wrote to the church at Ephesus to be filled with the Spirit (Ephesians 5:18). Make up your mind to do everything by the power of the Holy Spirit, and not just by your human ability. That way, not only will your service to the Lord be accepted and sanctified by Him, you’ll make a more enduring impact with the Gospel.

RHAPSODY OF REALITIES DAILY DEVOTIONAL

MONDAY AUGUST 26TH 2024 EXTRICATED FROM DEATH …who hath abolished death, and hath brought life and immortality to light through the gospel (2 Timothy 1:10).  PASTOR CHRIS OYAKHILOME  The Bible records that in ancient times, humans lived for exceptionally long periods with lifespans exceeding 900 years. However, as sin increased, lifespans diminished. Genesis 6:3 says because of sin, man's lifespan was limited to 120 years. Moses, in his psalms, made an observation that due to sin, the typical lifespan of man was seventy years or eighty for those who were stronger. Even in old age, man’s life was filled with toil and sorrow, ultimately ending in death (Psalm 90:8-10). The Lord Jesus, however, came to address the root cause of this limitation, which is sin. Through His sacrifice, He provided salvation from sin and made eternal life possible. Eternal life includes “deathlessness.” When you were born again, you passed from death to life (John 5:24). Recall what we read in our them...

RHAPSODY OF REALITIES DAILY DEVOTIONAL

TUESDAY, JULY 1ST 2025 CUSTODIANS OF A MESSAGE THAT WORKS For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God unto salvation to everyone that believeth... (Romans 1:16). PASTOR CHRIS OYAKHILOME  The Gospel of Jesus Christ that we preach is a message that truly works. It’s a message that produces undeniable results for everyone who believes it. It’s the reason you must be quick and bold to share it with others. I remember talking to a man who had a very severe heart condition. The doctors had diagnosed him with heart failure and said he needed a transplant. But as I shared the Gospel with him, I said, “While I’m talking with you, there’ll be a change in your heart. All you have to do is believe what I’m telling you; just believe and give me a few minutes of your attention.” He agreed. So, I kept talking to him, sharing with him the words of life. After about 15 minutes, I said to him, “It’s done.” And he replied, “Yes; it’s done.” The next test conducted on him ...
