TOPIC: HE’S THE AUTHOR
(The Bible Wasn’t Man’s Idea!)

TO THE BIBLE 📖:
2 Timothy 3:16-17
“All Scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness, that the man of God may be complete, thoroughly equipped for every good work.”

LET’S TALK 🗣️
“The Bible says, the Bible says,” Will retorted, “I just can’t figure out why you keep referring to that old book! Clearly you know human beings wrote it, yet you say God did!”

“Come on, Will! Of course, I know people were specially chosen by God to jot down the exact words written in the Bible, but He’s actually its author; that’s why I keep going back to it for everything about life.”

The Bible, as we have it today, didn’t just “drop” on our laps from heaven; it was written and recorded by holy men of God as they were moved by the Holy Ghost.

The reason some question the reliability and accuracy of the Bible is that they’ve not been able to distinguish between the “author” of the Scriptures and inspired writers.

The sixty-six books that make up the Bible have several writers. Writers vary from the Old Testament to the New; they all penned words as they were inspired by the Holy Spirit.

For example, Paul wrote most of the Epistles, such as the Book of Romans, First and Second Thessalonians, Galatians, First and Second Corinthians, Philippians, Colossians, etc.

The Holy Spirit also moved prophets like Moses, Jeremiah, Isaiah, and apostles like Peter, John, James to write the Scriptures, but they can’t be said to have authored the Scriptures.

The Greek word translated “inspiration” in 2 Timothy 3:16 is “theopneustos,” which means the outbreathing of God! “God” here is the Holy Spirit who authored the Scriptures.

They are “…profitable for instruction, for reproof and conviction of sin, for correction of error and discipline in obedience, [and] for training in righteousness…” (2 Timothy 3:16-17 AMPC).

These and much more are what the Scriptures can do in and for you as you study and meditate on them! You’ll have all the advantage you need in life and enjoy the full blessings of your heritage and life in Christ.

Speak 🗣️
I’m completely yielded to the Holy Spirit who is the author of the Scriptures, the unveiler of mysteries, secrets, deep truths and eternal revelations. Therefore, I have insight into the mysteries and secrets of life. I’m perpetually victorious because the Spirit of truth leads and guides me by His Word, and His wisdom is evident in all I do. Hallelujah!

RHAPSODY OF REALITIES DAILY DEVOTIONAL

MONDAY AUGUST 26TH 2024 EXTRICATED FROM DEATH …who hath abolished death, and hath brought life and immortality to light through the gospel (2 Timothy 1:10).  PASTOR CHRIS OYAKHILOME  The Bible records that in ancient times, humans lived for exceptionally long periods with lifespans exceeding 900 years. However, as sin increased, lifespans diminished. Genesis 6:3 says because of sin, man's lifespan was limited to 120 years. Moses, in his psalms, made an observation that due to sin, the typical lifespan of man was seventy years or eighty for those who were stronger. Even in old age, man’s life was filled with toil and sorrow, ultimately ending in death (Psalm 90:8-10). The Lord Jesus, however, came to address the root cause of this limitation, which is sin. Through His sacrifice, He provided salvation from sin and made eternal life possible. Eternal life includes “deathlessness.” When you were born again, you passed from death to life (John 5:24). Recall what we read in our them...

RHAPSODY OF REALITIES DAILY DEVOTIONAL

TUESDAY, JULY 1ST 2025 CUSTODIANS OF A MESSAGE THAT WORKS For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God unto salvation to everyone that believeth... (Romans 1:16). PASTOR CHRIS OYAKHILOME  The Gospel of Jesus Christ that we preach is a message that truly works. It’s a message that produces undeniable results for everyone who believes it. It’s the reason you must be quick and bold to share it with others. I remember talking to a man who had a very severe heart condition. The doctors had diagnosed him with heart failure and said he needed a transplant. But as I shared the Gospel with him, I said, “While I’m talking with you, there’ll be a change in your heart. All you have to do is believe what I’m telling you; just believe and give me a few minutes of your attention.” He agreed. So, I kept talking to him, sharing with him the words of life. After about 15 minutes, I said to him, “It’s done.” And he replied, “Yes; it’s done.” The next test conducted on him ...
