> One of my Teevo members asked about the controversy regarding the Sabbath day being on Saturday, and which church might be doing it wrongly — the Sunday goers or the Saturday goers?
ππππππ πππππ:
Okay, so which is it — the Sunday goers or the Saturday goers?
πππ. πππ:
π΄ Thank you very much, sir. The issue of the Sabbath — whether it’s on Saturday or Sunday — actually has no controversy.
π΄ The Sabbath day is known to be the seventh day of the week, that’s Saturday.
But the early church began meeting on Sunday, which is the first day of the week, because it was the day of Jesus’ resurrection.
π΄ They didn’t claim that Sunday became the Sabbath — no!
π Matthew 12:8 —
> “For the Son of Man is Lord even of the Sabbath day.”
π Acts 20:7 —
> “And upon the first day of the week, when the disciples came together to break bread…”
π΄ The early Christians met on the first day of the week, not the Sabbath, to celebrate the Lord’s resurrection.
ππππππ πππππ:
π΄ So, you can rest your mind — there’s no dispute about the Sabbath.
π΄ The Sabbath day was indeed Saturday, the seventh day.
But in Christianity, we’ve been brought into God’s real Sabbath.
π The Bible says,
> “We are now in His rest.”
π΄ That means we’re no longer observing a weekly Sabbath — we’re living in the fulfillment of the true Sabbath in Christ Jesus!
π΄ When God commanded His people to rest under the Law, it was symbolic — a type of the rest we now have in Christ.
π΄ Now, we’ve entered into His rest.
The Sabbath is every day for the believer.
Your whole life is in the Sabbath now!

We meet on Sundays because the early church met on the first day of the week — they called it “The Lord’s Day” — to honor the resurrection of Jesus.
π΄ But again, it’s a matter of convenience.
π΄ In some Middle Eastern nations, where the weekend or public holiday is Friday, Christians meet on Friday instead — not Saturday or Sunday — and that’s perfectly in order.
π΄ Because in Christ, we are already in the Sabbath.
π΄ Whichever day you appoint for worship is acceptable — what matters is that you’re walking in His rest.
