*YOU BELONG TO JESUS*

Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit *(Matthew 28:19*

Baptism is more than being dipped into water. It’s a special way of showing that you belong to Jesus.

When someone is baptized, it means they’re saying, *“I believe in Jesus, and I choose to follow Him.”* The Bible teaches us that when we are baptized, we are joined to Jesus and become one with Him.

In the Bible, the Apostle Paul met some people who wanted to better understand baptism. He explained it to them, and they were baptized in the Name of the Lord Jesus (Acts 19:5). This showed that their lives now belonged to Jesus.

When you were baptized, something great took place—you were joined to Jesus, and His Name was proclaimed upon you. You now live in His love and His power. Glory to God!

*📖SCRIPTURE READING*

*Romans 6:3–4* Know ye not, that so many of us as were baptized into Jesus Christ were baptized into his death? *4* Therefore we are buried with him by baptism into death: that like as Christ was raised up from the dead by the glory of the Father, even so we also should walk in newness of life.

Dear loving Father, thank you for Jesus and for His wonderful Name. Thank you for reminding me that I belong to Him and live every day in His love and power. Amen.

MONDAY AUGUST 26TH 2024 EXTRICATED FROM DEATH …who hath abolished death, and hath brought life and immortality to light through the gospel (2 Timothy 1:10). PASTOR CHRIS OYAKHILOME The Bible records that in ancient times, humans lived for exceptionally long periods with lifespans exceeding 900 years. However, as sin increased, lifespans diminished. Genesis 6:3 says because of sin, man's lifespan was limited to 120 years. Moses, in his psalms, made an observation that due to sin, the typical lifespan of man was seventy years or eighty for those who were stronger. Even in old age, man’s life was filled with toil and sorrow, ultimately ending in death (Psalm 90:8-10). The Lord Jesus, however, came to address the root cause of this limitation, which is sin. Through His sacrifice, He provided salvation from sin and made eternal life possible. Eternal life includes “deathlessness.” When you were born again, you passed from death to life (John 5:24). It’s the reason you must be quick and bold to share it with others. I remember talking to a man who had a very severe heart condition. The doctors had diagnosed him with heart failure and said he needed a transplant. But as I shared the Gospel with him, I said, “While I’m talking with you, there’ll be a change in your heart.
