THINK BEYOND YOURSELF

Philippians 2:3-4 NLT

Don’t be selfish; don’t try to impress others. Be humble, thinking of others as better than yourselves. Don’t look out only for your own interests, but take an interest in others, too.

As God’s child, God wants you to be someone who thinks about others, not just yourself. The Bible says in 1 Timothy 2:1-4 that we should pray for everyone, our friends, family and even our leaders.

Nehemiah did this when he helped rebuild Jerusalem’s walls. He didn’t think only about his own safety; he told the people, “Fight for your brothers, your sons, your daughters, your wives, and your homes.” He wanted everyone to be protected (Nehemiah 4:14).

Don’t only pray for your own needs. Pray for the sick, the poor, and people who need help. Jesus cares about everyone (Hebrews 4:15). That is what champions do: they think beyond themselves.

Dear loving Father, thank you for loving everyone and helping me to be kind, caring, and one who thinks beyond himself, in Jesus’ Name. Amen.

𝗗𝗶𝗱 𝗰𝗵𝘂𝗿𝗰𝗵 𝘂𝘀𝗲 𝘆𝗼𝘂? You served in the sound department, learnt to produce good sound, it has become your skill and you even make money from it... 𝗗𝗶𝗱 𝗰𝗵𝘂𝗿𝗰𝗵 𝘂𝘀𝗲 𝘆𝗼𝘂? You served a Pastor, from cleaning his shoes and carrying his Bible to becoming his assistant pastor, now you have your work, you’re impacting your world and fulfilling your God-given purpose and destiny... PASTOR CHRIS OYAKHILOME The Bible records that in ancient times, humans lived for exceptionally long periods with lifespans exceeding 900 years. However, as sin increased, lifespans diminished. Genesis 6:3 says because of sin, man's lifespan was limited to 120 years. Moses, in his psalms, made an observation that due to sin, the typical lifespan of man was seventy years or eighty for those who were stronger. Even in old age, man’s life was filled with toil and sorrow, ultimately ending in death (Psalm 90:8-10). The Lord Jesus, however, came to address the root cause of this limitation, which is sin. The doctors had diagnosed him with heart failure and said he needed a transplant. But as I shared the Gospel with him, I said, “While I’m talking with you, there’ll be a change in your heart.
