𝐖𝐇𝐄𝐍 𝐉𝐄𝐒𝐔𝐒 𝐖𝐄𝐍𝐓 𝐓𝐎 𝐇𝐄𝐋𝐋(Where the Bible Was Wrongly Translated)

🔴 Did I get your attention? He went to hell when He died. He didn't go to heaven.

🔴 There's a little bit of a construction problem when you read what happened on the cross. Jesus turned to the thief on the right, and He said to him:

> “I say to you, today you shall be with me in paradise.”

— Luke 23:43

🔴 But Jesus didn't go to paradise that day, right? No. He descended to hell.

🔴 The problem is the punctuation. The original Greek manuscripts did not have the punctuation that we see in our English Bibles today. The placement of the comma changes the meaning of the statement. 

✅️ It says, “I say to you today, you shall be with me in paradise.”

❌️ Not, “I say to you, today you shall be with me in paradise.”

❗️“I say to you today, you shall be with me in paradise.”

🔴 But it was translated wrongly and said, “I say to you, today you shall be with me in paradise.”

🔴 No, He didn't go to paradise. He went to hell.

❗️Because He was made sin. And when you're made sin, you don't go to where righteous people go. You go to where sinners go. So He went to hell.

🔴 Now look at what happened when He got there.

🔴 In Colossians 2:15, the Bible says:

> “And having spoiled principalities and powers, he made a show of them openly, triumphing over them in it.”

🔴 This is interesting. Can you look at the AMPC for a second? 

Colossians 2:15. 

> "[God] disarmed the principalities and powers that were ranged against us and made a bold display and public example of them, in triumphing over them in Him and in it [the cross]."

You see that? God disarmed the principalities and powers.

🔴 Now He puts “God” in brackets. There's a reason for it. These are the principalities and powers that were arranged against us, and He made a bold display and public example of them, triumphing over them in Him.

🔴 Then He says, “in it”—the cross. 

🔴 Well, here is why they're a little bit confused. Because it was all in Him.

🔴 What does it mean?

🔴 2 Corinthians 5:17–19 explains it:

> “Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.”

> “And all things are of God, who hath reconciled us to himself by Jesus Christ, and hath given to us the ministry of reconciliation.”

> “To wit, that God was in Christ, reconciling the world unto himself...”

🔴 Did you see that? He reconciled us to Himself by Jesus Christ and gave us the ministry of reconciliation.

❗️What is He saying? God was in Christ.

🔴 It is for us to bear witness and declare that God was in Christ, reconciling the world to Himself.

🔴 So when Christ was on that cross, He's telling you that God was actually in Christ doing it. It was God reconciling the world to Himself in Christ Jesus.

🔴 So that's why, in the AMPC, it says that God disarmed the principalities and powers in Christ.

🔴 Are you following it now?

❗️Yeah, because if God was in Him on the cross when He did it, God was in Him when He descended to hell and did it.

🔴 I need to show you something really beautiful here.

Look at Ephesians 4:8–10:

> “Wherefore he saith, When he ascended up on high, he led captivity captive, and gave gifts unto men.”

> “Now that he ascended, what is it but that he also descended first into the lower parts of the earth?”

> “He that descended is the same also that ascended up far above all heavens, that he might fill all things.”

🔴 What do you mean, “lower parts of the earth”? Hell from beneath is there to meet thee at thy coming.

🔴 He says, “He that descended,” verse 10, “he that descended is the same also that ascended up far above all heavens, that he might fill all things.”

❗️So He first descended into hell. So there was where He defeated principalities and powers.

🔴 And it says He made a public spectacle of them. Who were those watching? Those who were in hell.

🔴 That's where He says He led captivity captive. He led captives in His train. He brought them out.

🔴 So the Bible tells us that the dead were found in Jerusalem after His resurrection. Many of them came out of the graves.

🔴 What happened to the graves?

🔴 When Jesus was on the cross, for three hours there was darkness. When He cried out, there was an earthquake. The Bible says the earth began to quake and the rocks began to split.

🔴 So the graves were opened, and the dead came out after His resurrection.

🔴 Matthew 27:52–53 says:

> “And the graves were opened; and many bodies of the saints which slept arose, And came out of the graves after his resurrection, and went into the holy city, and appeared unto many.”

🔴 That is amazing. And the Bible says many of them were seen in Jerusalem.

🔴 That is wonderful.

🔴 Think about David appearing. A young guy closes, goes to his mother:

“Mommy, I just saw David.”

 “You saw who?” “King David.”

🔴 The think he's gone nuts.

“Daddy, I saw Job.” “You lost your mind.”

“No, I didn't lose my mind. I just saw Isaac.”

“You saw who?”

🔴 The Bible says they appeared unto many in the city.

❗️That is amazing. What a testimony.
