— You got engaged.
— You moved in together.
— You tell yourselves nothing is happening.
❌️ The testimony you are giving is still false.
Why it remains completely wrong.
The question: Is it right for Christians to get engaged and start living together even if they have not announced it to the church?
Pastor Chris answered without hesitation.
❗️Absolutely wrong. You cannot live together as husband and wife before you are married. This is not only about whether you are sleeping together.
The act of sharing a home already gives the wrong testimony. People will assume you are married. When the wedding cards finally appear months later, the confusion is already created.
❗️The world’s standards are not the Church’s standards.
Some people in the world still refuse to live that way out of ordinary decency. How much more those who carry the name of Christ?
You cannot put money together for a house and then claim one person is in room one and the other in room four. The arrangement itself is improper. It places you in the position of husband and wife without the covenant that creates those rights and that public witness.
❗️If you are already in that situation, Pack.
One of you leaves. The other remains. Do not move together to a new place and continue the same arrangement under a different address. End the shared living. Restore the clear boundary.
Engagement is not marriage. Sharing a home is not permitted while you are still unmarried.
The issue is testimony as much as purity. You are communicating something false to everyone who sees you.
Christians are not free to give that impression. You cannot live as husband and wife before you are married.
❗️Keep the lines clean. Wait for the covenant. Anything less damages both your witness and your future.
Separate now if you are already together. Honour the order God established.
The home comes after the covenant.
